THE BACKGROUND
Founded in the US by Portable Therapeutix, LLC in 2013, SQUID was designed as a drug-free solution to pain. (Developed in Boston, the earliest versions of SQUID were field tested and fine tuned with the cooperation of the varsity sports teams at Harvard University.) The portable device was designed for a 15 minute therapy time, utilising proprietary gel packs and sequential compression technology - wraps, with unique air bladders that inflate and deflate depending upon the level of compression chosen - driving cold deep into muscles and ligaments, decreasing swelling and promoting venous blood return.
SQUID Compression arrived in the UK in 2015, being distributed from the Cardiff area. The response was very positive, and SQUID quickly established a small yet loyal following with physiotherapists, team trainers and coaches, as well as a wide range of athletes - from "weekend warriors" to World Champions, Olympians, as well as aspiring Champions.

Dr. Schubert is an accomplished scientist and entrepreneur who combines cutting edge science and clinical acumen to improve athlete’s recovery. Dr. Schubert completed post- doctoral training at the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences & Technology (HST) biomedical engineering center. During his years at MIT, Dr. Schubert received and completed a National Research Service Award at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Schubert received his Ph.D in Biotechnology from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.

Terry has spent 35 years within the surgical medical device world, mostly in Sports Medicine orthopaedic surgery. Originally from Niagara in Canada, he moved to England in 1997 with Johnson & Johnson, and has also lived in Boston, USA as well as Switzerland when working with Smith + Nephew as European VP of Marketing for Sports Medicine. An avid sportsman, Terry saw the unique value proposition presented by SQUID GO, when introduced to it in 2024. His first employee was his university student son, who is based in Oxford where he studies at OBU. Terry completed his Bachelor’s Science Degree (Hons) with an emphasis in Kinesiology at University of Waterloo and earned his Bachelors Degree in Education at Queens University - both in Canada..
